While CAD/CAE simulation and analysis clearly reduces the required number of physical prototypes (many times down to a single prototype) necessary to validate a new product or component, physical prototype testing remains an important and necessary step in the product development process. ITI's testing capabilities and background are extensive. From the smallest components to the largest systems tests can be performed at ITI's state-of-the-art lab, in the field, or on-site at your facilities. ITI can further assist with data analysis, test development, and applying test data to simulations, including support of data management and processing.
Physical Prototype Testing processes include:
Design of Experiments --- Testing is a vital component to new product development; and ITI engineers and technicians have a wealth of experience in designing and implementing the test to fit the specific requirements of each of our clients. This includes designing simple test matrices through applying multi-variant parametric (e.g. Taguchi) and other methods to map out product behavior for optimizing decisions.
Accelerated Testing --- This service allows days or even months of usage to be reproduced in a matter of hours. Actual data collected in the field is simulated and applied in a controlled test lab environment allowing total test time to be reduced significantly.
