RPM™ Assistant v10.0 is an integrated suite of reliability software solutions which are the result of 15 years of ITI developing software tools to support the various RPM™ processes, methods, and reliability calculations and predictions.
The RPM™ software is organized in modules to provide all the necessary functionality to execute each step of the Reliability Process Management Methodology throughout the entire product development process. The following modules are included in Reliability Process Management Assistant v10.0:
The reliability process management assistant is built on top of Microsoft Excel, providing the following key features and benefits:
The RPM™ Warranty Data Analysis Module allows you to statistically analyze your warranty data and determine the reliability of your current products in the market. The Warranty Data Analysis module also analyzes essential baseline reliability metrics which are used to drive the RPM Planning for new product development projects. RPM™ Warranty Data Analysis is easy to use statistical analysis functionality and can analyze the following reliability metrics:
The RPM™ New Content Analysis Module allows you to model and predict the “newness” and how unproven the new product concept is in terms of its reliability risk potential for new, unknown failure modes. The new content analysis provides the ability to define new product content changes occurring throughout the product structure. Once the new content has been captured and evaluated, the software automatically calculates the reliability risk for each subsystem or product structure element and the total reliability risk for the complete new product system.
The calculated reliability risk is quantified in the form of a risk index which provides the primary metric utilized throughout the RPM™ methodology to drive the reliability plan parameters and requirements and to track risk mitigation, failure avoidance, and reliability growth throughout the product development lifecycle. The new content risk index is also an invaluable tool to evaluate the reliability risk and cost of multiple competing product concepts during the early product planning stages.
RPM™ New Content Analysis provides the following features and functionality:
The RPM™ Target setting module calculates system and subsystem level reliability targets which are technically achievable and based on both warranty objectives for the new product and customer reliability requirements. The following target setting features are provided:
The RPM™ Proactive Reliability Module provides the capability to both develop the detailed proactive reliability plan and a projected reliability risk mitigation curve which is tracked and monitored with actual results during the proactive reliability execution phase. During RPM™ Planning, RPM™ proactive module is used to plan the detail tasks for each proactive failure avoidance activity required to achieve the target amount of risk mitigation required in during the proactive reliability phase. The proactive reliability software will help specify the following plan details:
As planned proactive risk mitigation and failure avoidance tasks are executed and completed during concept and detail design, the RPM™ proactive reliability software provides the unique capability to continuously track reliability actual risk mitigation progress and status as compared to the plan. The proactive tracking chart plots the current reduction in reliability risk over time as compared to the plan. This provides the capability throughout the concept and detail design development stages to always know the current status of proactive reliability plan execution and . Thus, at any point in time if the actual results deviate from the plan, adjustments can immediately be made to the entire reliability plan.
The RPM™ Program Planning Module provides the capability to define an optimal reliability growth test program that achieves the new product reliability target and minimizes cost within the bounds of other project constraints. The program planning software will calculate the predicted initial failure rate of initial prototype test units based on the remaining new content risk index at the end of the proactive phase. Based on the calculated initial failure rates, the software will help you explore alternative plan options and configurations.
For each alternative plan configuration, the software simulates and predicts how must test time will be required, how many problems will occur in one or more test phases, and how many problems will need to be resolved to achieve the required reliability growth. This provides the ability to determine the feasibility of multiple plan options within the bounds of other project constraints. The program planning software module will help design an optimal plan by allowing the following plan parameters and values to be explored:
The RPM™ Reliability Growth Charting Modules provides powerful, automated capabilities to track reliability growth test results continuously during each reliability growth test phase and across multiple phase test plans. The Reliability Growth Charting software will automatically import updated test data from the field as frequently as you choose, automatically and calculate and update current reliability growth metrics at each instance the data is updated. With this powerful software you will be able to accurately monitor reliability growth status and effectively manage the reliability growth test phase on a weekly basis with the following charts:
