Summary
Today 3D CAD models are driving the world's product development processes. Finite Element Analysis, Rapid Prototyping, NC programming, Data Exchange, and other downstream applications rely to a growing extent on the direct use of CAD models to streamline processes saving time and money. Unfortunately many of these models contain hidden errors or anomalies that cause havoc for those who receive the model. The results of bad CAD files can be unprecedented levels of inefficiency, days of lost time and productivity, loss of design intent, and ultimately inferior product quality.
