Product Development 101: An Overview

Despite all the new product development processes and tools that are introduced every year, many companies are still not making significant and sustainable improvements in their product development processes. This course provides an overview of a proven product development process and supporting tools called Concurrent Product and Manufacturing Process Development (CPPD�). CPPD was originally developed 15 years ago with the same key principles of the latest trends in lean development and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and has been continuously enhanced to include the latest developments in processes and technologies. CPPD can increase the return on your product development investments by:

• Increasing productivity:
  • Developing more products and better products with the same resources and investments levels or
  • Cutting development budgets and maintaining the same new product development output
• Reducing product development time
• Improving product competitiveness (re: performance, reliability, etc.)
• Reducing warranty costs

Who should attend?
This course is designed for managers of product development organizations who are interested in learning how to either:

• Make major improvements in your overall product development processes and tools
• Identify and improve specific weak areas in your development processes and tools
• Identify and improve areas of synergy, where individual elements of your development process are already effective but are not integrated to maximize productivity
