New Design Validation
John Deere's reputation for quality among the golf industry earned them selection as the preferred supplier of turfcare equipment to the 2001 Ryder Cup Matches.

So when the company wanted to validate a new component design for its line of lightweight fairway mowers, they naturally called upon ITI.

New Design

To address customer requirements John Deere designed a new ball joint lift yoke to improve cutting performance and grass catching ability.

Because the yoke incorporated new design components, Deere needed to ensure that the design would stand up to the rigorous demands and high expectations of their customers.

ITI collected test data over a variety of terrains and conditions to measure the new design's performance. At the same time, ITI performed finite element analysis of the assembly to predict areas of stress.

Combining field data with stress results according to a variety of usage scenarios allowed ITI to predict the life and performance of the new design.
