MILFORD, OH; OCTOBER 22, 2004 --- International TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI), announces a another successful collaborative effort with lawn and garden equipment manufacturer Murray, Inc. The new product development program was initiated to provide Murray lawn and garden tractors with All Wheel Steering capability.
This marks the second successful new product development program between the two organizations in as many years. In 2003 ITI and Murray collaborated to develop a next generation Snowthrower. The new Snowthrower earned Murray the Chairman's Award for Innovation from Sears Canada.
Results
Murray's new All Wheel Steering design met all product and development process
goals. The uncut grass radius measured an average of 14 ¼". This was well below
the original design goal of 18 ½". Today Murray continues to rely on ITI's
Systems Engineering / Analysis Leads Design (SE/ALD™) process to deliver
innovative new products and features more quickly at lower development costs.
Simulation-Led Development
ITI's SE/ALD™ simulation-led approach allows the best design to be selected
early in the new product development process --- well before detailed design
begins. Evaluating and analyzing CAD models eliminates the multiple
design-build-test cycles associated with conventional new product development.
"Just as with the earlier Snowthrower program, the All Wheel Steering project utilized upfront computer model simulation," explained ITI's Program Manager Brian Lewis. "Implementing SE/ALD allows our clients to deliver innovative new products while significantly accelerating time to market and cutting development costs."
