MILFORD, OH; March 22, 2006 --- International TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI) has announced a new OEM agreement between ITI's Product Data Interoperability business (ITI TranscenData) and Korea-based MIDAS IT. The alliance will see CADfix, ITI TranscenData's leading 3D CAD model exchange and repair tool, become an integral part of the MIDAS computer aided engineering (CAE) software suite

MIDAS IT has been providing software to the civil and mechanical engineering fields since 1989, with a focus on developing application specific programs such as MIDAS/GTS for geotechnical structures and soil mechanics, MIDAS/Civil for bridges, MIDAS/Gen for building analysis and MIDAS/Mec for mechanical engineering. All MIDAS solutions are supported by MIDAS/FX+, the powerful CAE pre and post processor that provides a complete environment for streamlining the geometry modeling, meshing, analysis control and results visualization.

MIDAS IT identified a need for reliable 3D CAD model imports into its analysis software and approached ITI TranscenData for help. Now, with CADfix embedded as a front-end, MIDAS users will be able to confidently import a wide range of native and neutral CAD formats, safe in the knowledge that the model will arrive in MIDAS in a good condition ready for immediate reuse.

CADfix addresses fundamental inconsistencies and inaccuracies that can make the efficient transfer of solid modeling geometry between different CAD systems and downstream applications such as CFD and finite element analysis (FEA) all but impossible. MIDAS IT believes CADfix to be an essential diagnostic and repair tool for complex geometry in structural analysis, providing an immensely important time saving component at the start of the analysis process.
